Manchester City have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain after sealing the blockbuster deal on transfer deadline day. Donnarumma made 161 appearances for PSG and was a key player as they won the UEFA Champions League last season, but was sensationally dropped at the start of this campaign. Meanwhile, Ederson has left City to join Fenerbahce

Manchester City have signed goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal understood to be worth around £26m.
The 26-year-old joins Pep Guardiola's side on a five-year deal, which was agreed on transfer deadline day.
He has spent the past four years at PSG which culminated in a historic 5-0 UEFA Champions League final win over Inter back in May.
The 6ft 5in shot stopper is also Italy's number one and featured in the side which beat England in the UEFA Euro 2020 final. His career started at AC Milan, where he made more than 200 appearances.

Donnarumma announced his exit from Paris last month, as the French champions opted to sign Lille's Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the 2025 season, Lucas Chevalier.
He has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs in recent months, including Manchester United.

"To have signed for Manchester City is such a special and proud moment for me," he said.

"I am joining a squad packed with world-class talent and a team led by one of the greatest managers in the history of football in Pep Guardiola. This is a club every player in world football would love to join.

"I have admired watching Manchester City for many years - so to now be able to play for the Club is a huge honour and a privilege."

Donnarumma joins the eight-time Premier League champions as former first-choice goalkeeper Ederson signs for Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

The Brazilian won 18 major honours across eight years under Pep Guardiola, including six Premier Leagues, two FA Cups and a UEFA Champions League
. It makes him one of the most successful players in the club's history.

"I leave Manchester City incredibly proud of what we have achieved together," said Ederson.

"I am honoured to have worn the shirt so many times.

"Under Pep, we have dominated the Premier League and conquered Europe. It has been amazing."

James Trafford has been Guardiola's goalkeeper of choice so far this season, starting in each of their three Premier League games.
It has been a shaky start for the 22-year-old, who made a crucial mistake in their 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

He re-signed for City this summer on a five-year contract from Burnley for a reported £27m, just two years after being sold to the Clarets for £14m.
Other notable City signings this window have included Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves and Rayan Cherki from Lyon.
